Jason H. Rubens
Mr. Rubens received his license to practice law in the state of Illinois and the 7th Circuit Federal Court in 1995. He has tried numerous workers’ compensation cases (including appeals), personal injury cases before juries, and he has participated in many arbitrations and mediations. He has settled literally millions of dollars in injury cases and takes great pride in getting results quickly without selling his clients short.
From 1998-2001, Mr. Rubens worked for one of the largest insurance companies in the world. Mr. Rubens handled all types of injury litigation including numerous workers’ compensation trials and appeals as well as third party claims. Mr. Rubens was recognized by the company for his outstanding customer service and file handling. In 2001, Mr. Rubens opened his private practice which is dedicated to representing injury victims.
Frank D. Kress
Frank D. Kress joined the firm in August of 2005. Mr. Kress handles workers compensation cases. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Kress gained experience in transactional law and was a member of a litigation team representing the interests of area hospitals in Charlottesville, Virginia.
Mr. Kress is a graduate of the University of Michigan and received his law degree from the DePaul University College of Law. Since being licensed to practice law in 2004, Mr. Kress has devoted his time and energy toward representing working people who have been injured in the course of employment. Since he began practicing workers compensation law, Mr. Kress has delivered hundreds of thousands of dollars to his clients by working to achieve fair compensation settlements.
Toby P. Mulholland
Toby P. Mulholland joined the firm in June of 2004. Mr. Mulholland handles personal injury cases in the areas of motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, construction accidents and other serious personal injury actions.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Mulholland was an associate for over three years at one of the largest personal injury law firms in Illinois where he handled and litigated serious personal injury cases, including construction negligence cases.
Since being licensed in 2000, Mr. Mulholland has dedicated his practice to representing clients who have suffered serious injuries. He has gained extensive litigation experience, and has participated in numerous trials, arbitrations and mediations, which have resulted in successful outcomes for his clients. Mr. Mulholland is also a certified arbitrator for the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois.
Matthew recently joined the firm after spending the last 10 years running his own personal injury firm concentrating in both plaintiff’s personal injury and workers compensation law. This made Matt a perfect fit for joining RKM. Matt started out as an insurance defense attorney handling large cases dealing in construction negligence, trucking accidents and personal injury claims. By starting on the defense side, Matt has developed an advanced understanding of how the insurance companies respond to claims and understands opposing attorney strategies. With this knowledge, Matt has increasingly obtained amazing financial results worth millions of dollars for his clients both through settlements and trial work.
Matt is a graduate of the University of Michigan and an avid Michigan and Chicago sports fan. In 2001, he obtained his law degree here in Chicago at Chicago Kent College of Law. Mr. Abrams is also a certified arbitrator for the Circuit Courts of Cook and Lake County, Illinois.
Matt previously worked as the Director and Senior Administrator of several overnight camps, and has over 25 years of camping experience. With this unique and invaluable experience, Matt has expanded his legal practice to include camp consulting and legal representation for those who own and/or operate camps, rental facilities, and vacation/camping grounds.

Zachary A. Jordan
Zachary A. Jordan grew up in Belvidere, a farm and factory town in northern Illinois. He graduated in three and a half years from Northern Illinois University (NIU), where he was captain of NIU’s first ever mock trial team. Zach then attended Chicago-Kent College of Law and was the only first-year law student member of the Thurgood Marshall mock trial team. Zach then worked for Judge Alexander White in the Cook County Circuit Court. It was Judge White that inspired Zach to take the Illinois Workers’ Compensation class, after which his Workers’ Comp. professor hired him as a law clerk. Zach received the Institute for Law in the Workplace Scholarship and earned his Juris Doctorate and the Labor & Employment Certificate from Chicago-Kent.
Zach then worked for three judges in the Cook County Circuit Court and worked at two prominent Plaintiff/Petitioner’s law firms, where he wrote decisions for judges and resolved many cases through both settlement and litigation.
